Course Brief
A b s t r a c t
Management of severe bone atrophies still presents as a challenge in the treatment of edentulous patients. The combination of choosing the most appropriate surgical technique together with the right biomaterials, is key in determining predictable functional and esthetical outcomes in patients. In this course, the GBR application in 3D reconstruction for both maxilla and mandible sections will be covered. Soft tissue management is essential in achieving excellent clinical results in surgical procedures concerning both natural teeth and dental implants.
This course will equip participants with both theoretical and hands-on skills in major bone augmentation, practical for everyday clinical application. It will cover generic techniques such as flap design, elevation and suture procedures, as well as more in-depth and specific surgical techniques as connective tissue grafting, guided bone regeneration and biomaterials application. The use of clinical cases and videos together with most recent findings in research will be the base for presenting technique applications in this course.
O u t l i n e
• Horizontal and vertical bone augmentation: surgical technique,
biomaterials and complication management.
• Esthetic treatment in case of severe bone atrophy.
• Soft tissue grafting: autologous or substitutes.
Hands-on will cover:
Guided bone regeneration procedures
Connective tissue graft harvesting techniques
Biomaterials application in soft and hard tissue defects
